Rasputina & Infinity of Sound

Rasputina를 처음 알게 된 건 버피에서였다.
한창 버피/엔젤 폐인이던 시절, 아마 버피 시즌 2였을 거다,

Drusilla가 Transylvanian Concubine에 맞춰 몸을 흐느적거리는 장면이 있었는데
이 곡이 귀에 쏘옥 들어오더라...
결국 Rasputina의 다른 곡들도 들어봤는데 나름 자기들만의 색깔을 가진 밴드란 생각이 들었다.
첼로 전공한 여자들 3명으로 뉴욕에서 처음 결성되었다가 나중엔 남자 멤버까지 맞아들이긴 했지만,
어쨌거나 시작은 3명의 여자 첼로 전공자들이었다. 모두 클래식 첼로 전공자들.
첼로로 만드는 락음악. 발상부터가 독특하다.
그들의 무대 의상도 독특. 
빅토리안 스타일의 하늘하늘한 드레스를 입고 무대에서 첼로를 연주하는 3명의 여자들...
그들은 자신들의 음악을 light gothic하다고 하더라..^^
예전에 다운받아 갖고 있던 Rasputina MP3들은 다 오데로 사라졌는지...-..-
맥에서 피시로 바꾸면서 뭐가 많이 없어졌어...ㅜ.ㅜ
다 제대로 안 챙긴 내 잘못이지만...

이 곡은 Thanks for the Ether(1996) 앨범 수록곡. 
대충 뱀파이어에 관한 가사다, 버피와 딱 어울리는...^^

작년에 미국인 친구 하나(한국에 무쟈게 관심이 많은)가 한국에 왔었는데,
Infinity of Sound라는 한국 여성 트리오가 있다면서 CD를 사겠다고 했다.

(여기 사는 나도 모르는 걸 미국에 살면서 알고 있었다니... 장하다!)

그 친구가 알려준 대로 유투브에 떠 있는 Infinity of Sound의 '봄'이란 노래 뮤비를 봤는데 
보는 순간 딱 한국의 Rasputina 같단 생각이 들었다.

(물론 훨씬 덜 칙칙한 버전으로...ㅋㅋㅋ)

그 친구에게 이 얘길 했더니 자기도 그 생각 했었다고 하더군...^^
Infinity of Sound에 대해선 아는 바가 없다가 인터넷 검색을 해보니 뭐가 쫌 나오더라...

김진아(가야금) 김선아(거문고) 김민아(해금) 세쌍둥이!

궁S에 궁중악사로 출연했었다고 하네...

근데 사운드 진짜 독특하다.
우리 전통악기로 만든 음악이라 독특하고, 
멜로디가 귀에 쏙쏙 박히도록 심플하면서도 강렬하다.
게다가 세 명 다 완전 이쁨 @.@
