Running Up That Hill (single, 2007)

원래는 2003년 SWG 앨범의 보너스 트랙으로 실렸다가 2007년 재발매된 Meds 앨범에 다시 수록됨.
플라시보 버전은 원 곡보다 템포가 느리고 Q Magazine의 표현을 빌리자면 'deal with God'이라기 보다는 
'a pact with the Devil' 같은 느낌.

(이거 혹평이야 아님 dark해서 더 좋다는 거야...?

어쨌거나 난 오리지널보다 플라시보 버전이 더 좋아~)

플라시보 버전의 이 곡은 미드 [Bones]의 "Judas on a Pole" 에피 등에서 사용됨.

Bones 에피 보다보면 햇빛 받으면서 대낮에 밖에 있는 David Boreanaz 모습이

아직도 내 눈엔 낯설다는...ㅋㅋㅋ)

첨에 유투브에서 이 곡 라이브로 듣고, 곡명이나 뮤지션 이름은 기억이 안 났어도(이젠 늙어서 기억력 많이 감퇴)

내가 십대 시절 들었던 곡인 건 딱 알 수 있어서 왠지 반가웠다.

몰코씨랑 듣고 자란 음악이 비슷하단 생각도 들고, 옛날 생각도 나고...

몰코씨, 노래 부르면서 스테판 쪽 힐끔거리며 약간 미소를 머금는 듯... 좋아보인다^^

아직도 fag hag 눈엔 이런 slashy한 것만 자꾸 눈에 보여서 노래에 집중할 수가 없구나...ㅜ.ㅜ

근데 가만 보면, 드러머도 두 번이나 갈아치우고, 몰코도 여러 여자 만났다 헤어져도,

몰코와 스테판의 관계는 지난 15년간 끄떡 없다.

지난 몇 년 간 무대에서 보여준 애정행각(?)은 그냥 무대용이었던 거...? 라고 하기엔 너무 찐했잖아!!!

둘이 완전 천생연분!! 너무 잘 어울린다, 둘이...^^

이번에 Hardly Wait도 새 싱글에 들어간다던데, 무쟈게 기대 된다.

이 곡은 사실 내 개인적으론 PJ Harvey의 오리지널 버전보다

영화 Strange Days의 Juliette Lewis 버전이 더 좋다.

영화 속 라이브 장면 완전 압권!!!

줄리엣 루이스가 그렇게 노래를 할 수 있다는 거, 그 영화를 통해 처음 알게 됐고,

나중에 보니 자기 밴드도 있어서 라이브 공연도 하고 그랬나봐...

어쨋든 이 영화도 사운드트랙 CD 샀었다. 줄리엣 루이스의 Hardly Wait를 비롯해서

Tricky 곡 등 몇 곡은 들을만 했다.
