영어 버전보다 불어 버전이 더 좋다. 몰코는 불어 노래 부를 때 더 매력적이야...

2003년 프랑스에서만 발매됨. 
Gasper Noè가 감독한 Protège-Moi의 원래 뮤비는 너무 노골적인 성적 표현 때문에 공식 출시되지 않았음.
결국 이 곡의 뮤비는 Soulmates Never Die (Live in Paris 2003) DVD의 장면들로 만들어졌음.

(아니 도대체 얼마나 야했길래... 프랑스 사람들이 이럴 정도면 아주 수위가 높았나보다.

Soulmates 공연실황에서 이 곡 부를 때 무대에 나오던 이미지들도 누드 이미지들이던데...)

이 곡은 플라시보의 5번째 앨범 Meds의 두번째 싱글. 
Because I Want You 싱글은 영국에서만 발매되었으므로, 
그 외 지역에서는 이 싱글이 Meds 앨범의 첫번째 싱글.
이 곡은 마약, 특히 헤로인에 관한 내용으로 
닐 영의 노래 가사가 담겨 있음. (The Needle and the damage done)
뮤비는 마약중독자인 아버지와 그의 아들의 이야기를 담고 있음. 
아버지와 아들의 역할이 뒤바뀐 것이라고 보는 견해도 있음.
