New Music First - Polaroid Kiss

Its one of those classic club moments, you hear a song and immediately fall in love. When its over you ask your friends or you try to remember lyrics but in the morning its all a blur and you think, “Will I ever hear it again?”
I had that same experience when I first heard “White Lies and White Lines” by Polaroid Kiss though I was at home and sober, (for a change).
The song, a mixture of New Order, DJ Tomcraft’s “Overdose” and The Faint, sounds nothing like what you’d expect to hear from a band hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Of course music is full of surprises and Polaroid Kiss is one of the sweeter ones.
The band formed in December 2006 as the brain child of two musicians on opposite sides of the scale. As Brandun Reed and Tom Bennett engaged in an inebriated conversation regarding their backgrounds of Electroclash, post-punk and emo folk, they decided to pair their tastes and months later “Whites Lies and White Lines” was born.
As the song made its way through the indie scene, the band added Tim Burgess and Earl Dixon and began work on an EP.
The result of their efforts became “Youth” which is set to be released later this summer.
The seven track sidewinder is a mix of hard-driving beats and melodic scenery that showcases their ability to blend genres into danceable delight which can be previewed through their MySpace.
