이 밴드를 처음 알게 된 것은 엄청나게 오래 전에(십년도 넘은 듯 -_-) My So-Called Life를 보면서 

Leto에게 관심을 갖기 시작하고 이것저것 알아 보다가 알게 된 거 같다.
음악과 연기를 병행하는 연예인들은 많다. 그래서 사실 별 기대를 안 하고 음악을 들었는데 
30 Seconds to Mars는 신선한 충격이었다. Leto의 곱상한 외모와 달리 30STM의 음악은 굉장히 강렬했고
Leto 본인이 직접 작곡을 한다는 점이 내가 기존에 알던 가수를 겸업하는 배우들과 다른 점이었다.
한 앨범에서 한 두곡 정도 작곡하는 수준이 아닌 앨범 거의 전 곡을 직접 작곡. 
이 정도는 돼야 뮤지션이라고 할 수 있지 않을까...?
한살 터울 친형인 Shannon Leto와 어린 시절부터 함께 음악을 하다가 결국 밴드까지 만들어서 왕성하게 활동 중이다.
Jared Leto는 연기 잘 하는 배우이기도 하다. 그야말로 재능과 끼가 넘치면서 외모도 아름다운 남자.
너무 이뻐서 사실 정이 안 간다는 ㅋㅋㅋ 하지만 이쁜 건 인정! ㅋㅋㅋ
30STM의 첫 앨범을 참 좋아했었다. 이후에 나온 앨범들 중에서 Beautiful Lie도 좋았고. 
호랑이가 커버에 있는 앨범 때부터 음악이 좀 너무 응원가 같이 들려서 주욱 잊고 있었는데 
2013년에 레이블사와의 힘겨운 분쟁 끝에 새 앨범이 나왔었다고?? 
그 투쟁기를 다룬 다큐까지 Jared Leto 본인이 만들었었다고 함. EMI와의 분쟁이었나...?
분쟁의 자세한 스토리는 잘 모르겠지만 어쨋든 새 앨범을 낼 수 있었다니 축하할 일이군용~
그동안 내한 한 적이 있었는지 모르겠지만 온다면 한 번쯤 가서 보고 싶다.
Jared Leto는 지금 40대다. 하지만 관리를 엄청나게 잘 해서 전혀 40대로 안 보임!
내가 알기론 채식주의자인 걸로 알고 있고 담배 피는 모습을 한 번도 본 적이 없는데 아마 담배도 안 피나보다.
작곡, 노래, 연기에 모두 능하면서 거기에 미모까지! 그야말로 다재다능한 사람.

Thirty Seconds to Mars (also commonly stylized as 30 Seconds to Mars) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998.
